How Do You Add a Page on Google Docs
Adding a page in Google Docs really means inserting a **page break** so the next content starts on a fresh page. There's a menu, a shortcut, and a few layout-mode caveats.
Insert a page break from the menu
- Place the cursor where the new page should start.
- Go to Insert → Break → Page break.
- The cursor jumps to the top of a new page.
Use the keyboard shortcut
- Ctrl + Enter (Windows)
- Cmd + Enter (Mac)
This works exactly like Insert → Break → Page break but is faster for repeated use.
Pages vs Pageless layout
Google Docs has a Pageless mode where pages don''t exist. To add page breaks, switch to Pages:
- File → Page setup.
- Pick Pages at the top.
- Click OK.
Adjust page size
While in Page setup, set the page size (Letter, A4) and margins. New pages inherit the same settings.
