How Do You Add a Page on Google Docs

Adding a page in Google Docs really means inserting a **page break** so the next content starts on a fresh page. There's a menu, a shortcut, and a few layout-mode caveats.

Insert a page break from the menu

  1. Place the cursor where the new page should start.
  2. Go to InsertBreakPage break.
  3. The cursor jumps to the top of a new page.

Use the keyboard shortcut

  • Ctrl + Enter (Windows)
  • Cmd + Enter (Mac)

This works exactly like InsertBreakPage break but is faster for repeated use.

Pages vs Pageless layout

Google Docs has a Pageless mode where pages don''t exist. To add page breaks, switch to Pages:

  1. FilePage setup.
  2. Pick Pages at the top.
  3. Click OK.

Adjust page size

While in Page setup, set the page size (Letter, A4) and margins. New pages inherit the same settings.

Try it faster with guidance

Skip the menu hunt—let Vocordia guide you through it with voice and on-screen cursor guidance so you can keep your writing flow.

There's a faster way.

Next time, employees can ask by voice and get step-by-step guidance inside the app - no manual, no ticket.
