How to Add Pictures to Canva
Canva accepts images from your computer, your phone, its built-in stock library, and even direct URLs. All sit in the same **Uploads** or **Elements** panes for re-use.
Upload from your computer
- Open the editor and click the Uploads tab in the left sidebar.
- Click Upload files and pick JPG/PNG/SVG files.
- Drag any uploaded image onto the canvas.
Upload from your phone
- In Uploads, click the camera/phone icon (it varies by version).
- Scan the QR code with your phone or follow the link to upload directly to your account.
- The new image syncs into Uploads ready to drag in.
Use stock photos
- Click the Elements tab.
- Scroll to Photos or search a keyword.
- Click any image to add it; some are free, some require Pro.
Replace an image already on the canvas
Drag a new image from Uploads or Elements directly onto the existing image—Canva swaps it in place keeping the crop and position.
Try it faster with guidance
Skip menu-hunting—let Vocordia guide you through it with voice and on-screen cursor guidance so you can swap images in your design without losing focus.
