How to Make a Logo on Canva

Canva has hundreds of logo templates plus the tools to design one from scratch. The key is to keep the canvas square, use vectors where possible, and export with a transparent background.

Start a logo design

  1. From the Canva home page, search Logo and pick a template, or click Create a designLogo for a blank 500x500 canvas.
  2. Templates give you typography and layout starting points—swap fonts and colors to make them your own.

Customize fonts, shapes, and colors

  1. Click any text and use the toolbar to change font, size, and spacing.
  2. Use Elements to add shapes or icons; recolor by selecting the element and clicking the colored squares.
  3. Group related layers (PositionGroup) so they move together.

Keep it scalable

  • Prefer ElementsGraphics that show "vector"; they stay sharp at any size.
  • Avoid raster photo backgrounds in a logo.

Export with a transparent background

  1. Click ShareDownload.
  2. Choose PNG and check Transparent background (Pro feature) for use over any color.
  3. Download an additional SVG if you have Pro—best for resizing.

Try it faster with guidance

Skip menu-hunting—let Vocordia guide you through it with voice and on-screen cursor guidance so you can iterate on the logo without losing focus.

There's a faster way.

Next time, employees can ask by voice and get step-by-step guidance inside the app - no manual, no ticket.
